I held Declan’s water bottle out to him as he neared me. As he got closer, I heard him tell his buddies, “And one of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, loved macaroni and even invented macaroni and cheese.”
Declan nodded his head and took his water from my hand.
“Wow, your son is so smart!” One buddy exclaimed to me.
“Yeah,” the other added, “He named us all the presidents. I only know a few.”
I nodded, “Me too!”
Declan finished his drink of water and was off to his next activity. High 5 sharks and minnows.
It was a fun busy weekend. Our busy schedule opened, and Declan got to go to one of his favorite activities, High 5 soccer.
He cracked me up as I watched him. During red light, green light Declan just ran forgetting his soccer ball completely. While shooting the big ball into the net he told his buddies all about the presidents. While playing with the cones – well, I am not sure what he was doing – but it cracked me up!
And then it was time for the High 5 tunnel – a favorite!
Catelyn had a busy weekend too. My husband took Catelyn to his work last week for “take your child to work day.” She took the train downtown with him, attended all his meetings, did a workshop, and sat with different departments to learn about their different activities.
What did she say she wanted to be when the kids were asked to write down what they wanted to be when they grow up?
“I want to be an actress.”
To get more practice for her future goals, Catelyn acted in the church play Saturday evening.
Here she is beforehand: “I think I am going to throw up!”
And then in action. She’s G “Know what I’m sayin’?”

The next day was a day at the soccer fields for Catelyn. Tournament day.
And in between the games as she sat with her team (and I with my book) she picked me flowers. How sweet!
Where was Bobby in all this? Hanging out with friends. And saw Avengers: Endgame. Here is all I had to say to him about that:
The weekend wrapped up with an evening trip to get some water ice. Cate decided to get the REALLY BIG one!
The kids had a lot of fun doing their favorite things. And I loved the memories captured in pictures!
Aww I loved all of this post 😊🌹❤️
Thank you, Elaine!
Another great, heart-warming post, Robyn. What a busy weekend you all had. Well done to Declan for multi-tasking, playing soccer and educating his friends at the same time! Not many of us could do that! And Catelyn’s doing so well – I’m sure she’ll make a great actress. And her picking you flowers like that – what a lovely thought. It looks like a good time was had by all. Thanks for bringing a big smile to my face on a grim Tuesday morning over here! 🙂
Oh, that is great! I am glad I was able to make you smile 🙂 Thank you, Alli!
Great post 😃
Thank you!
No problem 😊 check out my blog when you get a chance 😃
Will do!
That was lovely. A nice smiley post. Thank you so much. Did you get any time for yourself or is that a daft question.
Thank you! I did get to read in between Cate’s soccer games. Granted I appeared pretty antisocial shutting myself off – BUT it was a really good book 🙂
All these blessings!!!
You’re right!! So many blessings!!
What a great weekend! Do you happen to know what kind of flowers those are? They’re some of my favorites.
Thank you! I don’t know. But they are still blooming on my counter in a vase – so pretty and hearty! 🙂
I’ll keep looking.
